Hunters Supporting NRA

The NRA has a built in influence among the hunters of America. Clearly needing their guns to hunt game, hunters support the NRA so that they are guaranteed that the association will fight for their rights. This tactic allows the NRA to gain greater influence with the 17 million hunters currently in the US. The association appeals to the hunters through various organizations which allow the hunters to see exactly the steps being taken to ensure their rights are being fought for. They have a Hunters Services Division, Conservation and Wildlife Division and a Legislative Hunting Division. “The NRA sees hunting programs as a way to expand its influence outside of normal gun owners. As a result, this allows the NRA greater opportunities for new memberships and the ability to expand its base of support.” said representative Clemente. She later added, “protecting hunters’ rights and access is a major day-to-day component of what we try to accomplish here.” The NRA mainly focuses on incorporating the people who already have guns rather than encouraging non-users to buy guns.
They couple the programs with elaborate magazines which discuss the proper technique of shooting their beloved guns all the way to how to cook up a nice fried venison. No different than a fashion magazine, American Hunter magazine capture the attention of all hunters through tips as the magazine tries to encourage further participation in the NRA. Although the magazine can be picked up a non-member, the stories and advertisements are a constant reminder to sign up for the NRA. They make sure that as a person flips the pages the NRA symbol is stamped through the stories, a nice friendly reminder to join the cause.
